After teaching for five years in Anchorage, Alaska, I moved with my husband Aaron and our son Niko  to the Portland, Oregon area, two years ago. Now we are the new owners of a home on 2 acres and have welcomed baby Sofia to our family. Having lived in the city for the past 15 years, I’m having to re-learn everything I thought I knew about gardening and canning, while Aaron is reveling in the opportunity to do a hefty amount of yard work and learn to brew beer and ale.

Managing two small humans, staying organized, and keeping up with our gardens is what my life is all about now.
